AssessKit Team·Jan 10·5 min

Ready to create your first psychology experiment? This tutorial will walk you through building a simple reaction time experiment in just 5 minutes.

Step 1: Create a New Project

After signing in to AssessKit, click "New Project" from your dashboard. Give it a name like "My First Reaction Time Study" and click Create.

Step 2: Add Your Start Node

Every experiment starts with a Start node. It's automatically added when you create a new experiment. This is where participants begin.

Step 3: Add an Instructions Node

Drag an HTML node from the sidebar and connect it to the Start node. Click to edit and add instructions explaining the task to participants.

Step 4: Add a Task Node

Drag a Task node and connect it to your instructions. Click to configure it, select "Simple Reaction Time" from the task library, and customize the parameters.

Step 5: Add a Finish Node

Connect your task to the Finish node. Add a thank you message or debriefing information.

Step 6: Preview and Deploy

Click "Preview" to test your experiment. When satisfied, click "Deploy" to generate a shareable link for participant recruitment.

That's it! You've created your first experiment. Explore the task library to add more complex tasks and build sophisticated experimental designs.
